Kenyan RnB singer, songwriter, and guitarist Otile Brown hit the music streets in 2016 after releasing the song “Imaginary Love” which featured Khaligraph Jones. His highly relatable love songs have garnered him a huge fan base both locally and internationally.
Otile Brown, whose real name is Jacob Obunga, released his debut album ‘Best of Otile Brown’ in 2017 which included his hit song ‘Imaginary Love’. In 2020, he released his second album titled “Just in Love”. The album features collaborations with major artists in Kenya and Tanzania including Jux, Kidum, Mejja, Meddy, and Khaligraph Jones.

He has released other single hits such as Chaguo la Moyo featuring Sanaipei Tande, Jeraha with Jovial, Woman with Harmonize, and Dusuma featuring Meddy. Other singles which feature international artists include Jamila with Nigerian artist Reekado Banks, Baby Go with Kizz Daniel, and In Love featuring Alikiba.
Awards
Otile Brown has been nominated for major awards including in the Pulse Music Awards for Male Video of the Year in 2018 for his song Baby love. The song was nominated alongside Khaligraph Jones’ Omollo, King Kaka’s Dundaing and Naiboi’s 2 In 1. Dundaing won the award. In 2020 Otile Brown was nominated for the Best Pop Category in the Soundcity MVP Awards and AFRIMMA Best Male Category in East Africa which he later turned down.
In 2020, Billboard ranked Otile Brown as the most watched homegrown artist in Kenya.
